This in-person event is your chance to connect with Eaton experts to earn Professional Development Hour credit, sharpen your skills, and get practical, real-world training with variable frequency drives and soft starter technology.

  • Check-in opens at 7:30am
  • Continental breakfast provided
  • Lunch and snacks will be provided
  • Sessions Description
    Professional development hours (PDH) topics
Motor Starting Methods This session discusses Motor Starting considerations, a review of Motor Fundamentals, and Low Voltage starter types.
Harmonic Mitigation and Applications Learn about electrical harmonics, their impact on power quality, and the risks they pose to modern electrical systems. Explore common mitigation techniques and best practices for real-world applications.
Soft Starters Principles and Applications This session demystifies soft starter technology and when to choose it over across-the-line or variable frequency drives solutions. We'll cover SCR topologies, control profiles, protections, sizing, and provide you with a commissioning checklist.
Ethics for Engineering Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors – Professional Practice Update/Ethics: Updates on engineering ethics and Code of Conduct, Board Activities, rule and statutory changes, and general updates on Board initiatives.
    Engineering and application topics
Active Energy Saving Control Algorithm This session will introduce the Active Energy Control (AEC) algorithm built into all Eaton PowerXL drives and show how it intelligently adjusts motor voltage and flux to reduce wasted energy. We'll cover how AEC works, where it delivers the biggest savings, and real examples of how customers can reduce operating costs without sacrificing performance.
Pump Solutions - Features, Functions, & Options This session will cover the basics of the Eaton's irrigation pump panel offering. Expect to learn how we target pump applications, when to choose a pump starter or drive, and stocking strategy.
Enclosed variable frequency drives - Benefits and Applications This overview of Eaton's enclosed drives will give you a understanding of the entire enclosed drive product offering. Training will discuss what packaged drives we recommend, plant performance, and our plans for the future.
Active Front End (AFE) variable frequency drives Comprehensive deep-dive into Eaton's clean-power and low-harmonic solutions for efficient motor-control.
    Hands-on training
Eaton PowerXL DX1 high-performance AC variable frequency drive Hands-On Training Learn to set up, configure, and troubleshoot Eaton’s PowerXL DX1 drive using its intuitive touchscreen interface. Training covers precise closed‑loop speed/torque control, safety features (SIL 3, PL e, Cat.4 STO), onboard PLC use, and integration with common industrial networks.
