In this video we will walk you through of how to navigate the parameter menu with the keypad of the Eaton PowerXL DH1.

The Eaton PowerXL DH1 VFD menu structure is:

  • Main Menu
  • Menus
  • Submenus
  • Parameters.

The Main Menu has seven menus and is designated TPM in the upper right of the display screen.

The 7 menus are:

  • M for Monitor or MON
  • P for Parameters or PAR
  • F for Fault or FLT
  • For Optional Boards or BOA
  • T for Favorite or FAV
  • O for Operate Mode or OPE
  • S for Startup Wizard or QSW

The Parameters Main Menu has 13 submenus and is designated PAR in the upper right of the display screen.  Please note, not all submenus are available in Basic Application and PID Application.  All submenus are visible in Advanced Application.

The 13 submenus are:

  • P1-Basic Parameters
  • P2-Inputs
  • P3-Outputs
  • P4-Drive Control
  • P5-Motor Control
  • P6-Protections
  • P7-PID Controller 1
  • P8-PID Controller 2
  • P9-Fire Mode
  • P10-Bypass
  • P11-Real Time Clock
  • P12-Communication
  • P13-System

The keypad left arrow, right arrow, up arrow, down arrow, back/reset and OK buttons are used to navigate the menus.

The alphanumeric menu designations build on the menu structure.

Here is an example:

Example 1:  P1.3 (Accel Time 1) --- P designates the Parameters menu, 1 the Basic Parameters submenu and 3 the parameter number in the submenu.

  1. To navigate to the P1.3, highlight Parameters in the main menu, press the right arrow or OK key to enter the submenu.
  2. With the cursor on submenu P1 (Basic Parameters) press the right arrow or OK key to enter the submenu.
  3. Use the down arrow and stop the cursor on P1.3 (Accel time 1) and press the right arrow of OK key. Press the OK key again.
  4. The numeric value, in seconds, will begin to blink---blinking indicates the value can be changed.
  5. Use the up and/or down arrows to increase or decrease the value.
  6. When the desired value is displayed press the OK key and the numeric value will stop blinking indicating the new value is set.
  7. Acceleration time is now 10 seconds.
