Getting NUTty with Pi

Eaton knows the importance of the open-source community and its contributions to furthering information technology—including ours.

The Network UPS Tools (NUT) project has been very helpful for IT by allowing for UPS integrations in various systems (e.g. NAS devices and console servers).

Whether you’re a sysadmin rockstar, home lab hero, or an open-source aficionado, we want to be a part of the conversations going on about what the collaborative community is be able to do with its Raspberry Pi/Linux computers and their Eaton UPSs, including Tripp Lite by Eaton UPS systems. To do our part, we’re providing a way for new users to hit the ground running with NUT and a UPS. In a matter of minutes, you can go from: UPS system connected to Linux box via USB to a working HTTP GUI and SNMP monitorable system!

Use the links in the resources bar below to show us how you did. Feel free to share your ideas, feature requests, comments, notice bugs or something cool you discovered with NUT.

TechnoTim, a software engineer and full nerd, created a video guide to everything you want to know about NUT servers.

After a recent outage that lasted longer than his UPS could handle, TechnoTim reviewed a couple of Eaton's UPS options to power his servers and connectivity devices.
