Power Up consultant training course

Eaton invites you to spend two days in a unique learning environment at our Power Systems Experience Center in Pittsburgh, PA. This course, designed specifically for early-career power systems design engineers, will provide education on a variety of electrical design aspects.

Are you ready to Power Up?

Power Up is part of Eaton’s Experiential Learning Series (ExL) that offers a tiered approach to continuing education for consultant and specifying engineering professionals, delivering a curriculum with varying course levels catering to engineers early in their careers, on up to the more experienced professional.

When: September 9-10, 2025

Where: Eaton Experience Center, Pittsburgh, PA

This event is complimentary and includes all meals. 

  • Learn power system design fundamentals including system calculations, overcurrent protection and motor control
  • Examine various low-voltage power distribution products including panelboards, switchboards, meters, etc., in a safe, controlled environment
  • Experience a hands-on review of electrical distribution equipment construction and operation
  • Receive application training directly from Eaton industry experts
  • Connect with peers

Day 1 - 12:00pm - 5:00pm

  • Distribution system walk through with single line
  • Three-phase power system calculations
  • PSEC facility tour and equipment overview
  • Dinner at The Turn Club / transportation provided

Day 2 - 8:00am - 3:00pm

  • Switchgear demonstration
  • Goals of system design
  • Overcurrent Device basics - breakers and fuses
  • Power quality lab: starter and drive basics, PF, motor starting, sags, swells
  • Coordination and arc flash overview
  • Scavenger hunt - product identification
  • Wrap-up and depart
