Power Up consultant training course

Eaton invites you to spend two days in a unique learning environment at our Power Systems Experience Center in Warrendale, PA. This course,  designed specifically for early-career power systems design engineers, will provide education on a variety of electrical design aspects in an local switchgear manufacturing plant.

Are you ready to Power Up?

Power Up is part of Eaton’s Electrical Designer Training Series that offers a tiered approach to continuing education for consultant and specifying engineering professionals, delivering a curriculum with varying course levels catering to engineers early in their careers, on up to the more experienced professional.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn power system design fundamentals including system calculations, overcurrent protection and motor control
  • Examine various low-voltage power distribution products including panelboards, switchboards, meters, etc., in a safe, controlled environment
  • Hands-on review of electrical distribution equipment construction and operation
  • Receive application training directly from Eaton industry experts
  • Connect with peers

The power distribution topics and product solutions discussed have wide application across all market segments and industries, offering an excellent educational opportunity for consultants to learn power distribution applications.

During your time at the Power Systems Experience Center, you will make the connection between the design engineer’s one-line drawing and actual engineered-to-order electrical distribution equipment that gets assembled, tested, and installed on your projects.

12:00 p.m. - Arrive in Warrendale, PA

12:15 p.m. - Lunch and introductions

1:30 p.m. - Three-phase power system calculations

2:45 p.m. - PSEC facility tour and equipment overview

4:30 p.m. - Scavenger hunt (product identification)

5:30 p.m. - Hotel Registration, Hampton Inn, Warrendale, PA

6:00 p.m. - Depart for Dinner at Jerome Bettis’ Grill 36

9:00 p.m. - Return to Hampton Inn

12:00 p.m. - Load flow / voltage drop (lunch session)

2:15 p.m. - Wrap-up

3:00 p.m. - Depart on the bus back to our home cities
