Agenda

8:00 - 8:30 am: Breakfast and demos

8:30 - 9:20 am: Arc Resistant Motor Control – Arc Absorbing technology and design

This session will review the standards around arc flash safety for medium voltage motor control centers including IEEE C37.20.7. We will look at the various technologies used to meet this standard and their impact on project design.

9:30 - 10:20 am: Low-voltage motor control centers

This course provides an overview on what an MCC is and the information you can pull from intelligent drives, starters and breakers to prevent failures and diagnose faults. Included in the class will be an overview of new intelligent components now being offered in MCCs (e.g. CTM) and future state component offerings around motor health monitoring.

10:30 - 11:00 am: Demos

11:00 - 11:50 am: Designing for electrical maintenance

This session provides attendees with a brief history of NFPA 70B, why it was changed to a standard in 2023 and key things to know. The focus will be on design improvements that can be added into electrical equipment to facilitate maintenance and safety.

11:50 - 12:30 pm: Lunch

12:30 - 1:20 pm: Metal-enclosed gas insulated switchgear – how to go SF6 free

Review various insulating options for gas-insulated switchgear and the considerations when choosing the right product for your installation. You will also learn about various regional insulating regulations and how they affect you.

1:30 - 2:20 pm: Predictable maintenance approach for safety and lifecycle extension of electrical equipment

An effective predictive maintenance strategy begins with good data and actionable insights. Using real use cases, discuss how the latest tools and technology can help reduce asset downtime, prevent unexpected failures.

2:30 - 2:50 pm: Final demo session

3:00 - 3:50 pm: Power Quality

An overview of Power Quality and its impact on facility operation, with special consideration given to grounding, lightning protection, and switching transients.

3:50 - 4:00 pm: Wrap-up
