Power Boost consultant training course

Eaton invites you to spend the day in a unique learning environment at our panelboard and switchboard manufacturing plant in Smyrna, GA. This course, designed specifically for early-career to mid-level power systems design engineers, will provide hands-on education on a variety of power system design concepts.

PowerBOOST is part of Eaton’s Electrical Designer Training Series that offers a tiered approach to in-person, experiential learning through hands-on exercises and demonstrations for power system design professionals. The curriculum offers varying levels of enhanced learning opportunities for engineers at any stage of their career.

This event is complimentary and includes all meals. 

  • Learn about design and application considerations for power distribution solutions including switchboards, switchgear, safety switches, distribution transformers, EV chargers and device networking
  • Examine and operate various low-voltage power distribution products including breakers, safety switches, distribution transformers, EV chargers and power meters in a safe, controlled environment
  • Review and gain better understanding of NEC structure, organization and key requirements
  • Receive application training directly from Eaton industry experts
  • Connect with peers

Day 1

  • Welcome lunch and introductions
  • Eaton consultant resources overview
  • Distribution system walk-through and Eaton panelboard/switchboard plant tour
  • LV breaker types (MCCB vs ICCB vs PCB) with hands-on demonstrations
  • UL891 switchboard vs UL1558 switchgear with hands-on demonstrations
  • Dinner/social event

Day 2

  • Distribution transformer and safety switch applications with hands-on demonstrations
  • NEC overview (code-making process, structure/organization, key requirements affecting distribution equipment)
  • Electrical vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) design and application with hands-on demonstrations
  • Networking and device communication basics with hands-on demonstrations
  • Wrap-up and depart
