It only takes a few quick and easy steps
With the latest version 7.3 release of Eaton’s Brightlayer software, we offer online and offline methods for licensing your instance of the software.
For the online method, your computer accessing Server Admin must be connected to the internet. If your computer does not have internet access, you will need to use the offline method for activating your software.

Watch these helpful videos to activate your Brightlayer software.
What you need before getting started
To license your software, you need to install it and add all of the activation IDs from your entitlement email. If you do not have an activation link, please contact brightlayerdcsupport@eaton.com .
Access the ServerAdmin Initialization page by entering the IP address that was assigned during installation and /ServerAdmin Example: 10.192.168.11/ServerAdmin
Default credentials include:
Username: admin
Password: Monit@r#1
The first time you log in, you will be prompted to change the admin password for the ServerAdmin interface.
Once you are logged in, you can assign a host URL by changing the “Host URL” entry. Your license will be bound to your URL, and the license will become inactive if the URL is changed after activating your software.
Online activation process (Server Admin connected to the internet):
After selecting your activation method, enter all of the Activation IDs you received from your Brightlayer entitlement email. Click the + sign to enter multiple Activation ID entry options. When you are done, click the “Submit” button.
After clicking “Submit,” your server will be given an activation key and will reboot. The reboot process can take 10 to 20 minutes. Once rebooted, you will be able to log into the web interface of your software. You will be prompted to change the admin password to the web interface during your first log in.
Offline activation process (Server Admin NOT connected to the internet):
After the previous step, you should see the option to upload your license.vdc file. Click the “Select File” button. Next, navigate to where you saved the license.vdc file and select the “Upload license” button.
Once you click “Submit,” your server will be licensed and will then reboot. The reboot process can take 10 to 20 minutes. Once rebooted, you will be able to log in to the web interface of your software. You will be prompted to change the admin password to the web interface during the first log in.
