Pittsburgh – Intelligent power management company Eaton announced it is a core member of the Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN), a leading global industry association driving global standards for electric vehicle (EV) charging. Eaton is committed to interoperability and uniform universal standards to accelerate a secure, low-carbon future and provides EV charging infrastructure solutions that support safe, reliable and efficient charging.

By 2028, Eaton expects 40% of vehicle sales will be for EVs, and there will 9.17 million public EV charging installations (source: Education and cooperation deliver eMobility expansion, March 2022). With more EVs on the road, the need for secure charging infrastructure that rapidly and efficiently charges all vehicles without overloading the electric grid becomes even more important. Eaton is working on large-scale EV infrastructure projects in the U.S. and around the world that support fast, cost-effective charging for all types of electric vehicles.

Eaton joins CharIN to support global standards
