MORGES, Switzerland … Intelligent power management company Eaton today announced it has become the first company to join Orgalim, Europe’s largest industry network focused on advanced manufacturing, to collaborate with influential policymakers and business leaders.

Founded in 1954, Orgalim represents three key industry sectors: mechanical engineering, electronic and electrical engineering, and metal technology. As a pan-European federation, Orgalim engages with EU legislators in Brussels on behalf of its members—which include 46 associations representing over 770,000 companies in 22 countries. The organization aims to work with policymakers and stakeholders to create a policy environment that supports innovation and industrial transformation, bringing together industry and policy makers for constructive dialogue.

As Europe drives decarbonization to combat climate change, successful public policy is critical to ensure reliable and resilient access to power. As a corporate member of Orgalim, Eaton will gain access to its targeted European policy and advocacy services—playing an active role in relevant working groups to contribute to the EU’s policymaking process. Additionally, Eaton will be able to leverage new opportunities thanks to regulatory intelligence on key issues, as well as ongoing monitoring of policy areas that affect its business—such as product safety, cybersecurity, and energy efficiency.

“We’re delighted to join Orgalim,” comments Cyrille Brisson, vice president, Sales, Services and Marketing, EMEA, Eaton. “Together, we can work with EU policymakers to address the challenges of the energy transition now gathering speed across Europe. This includes the growth of distributed and highly variable renewable generation, bidirectional electricity flows, and the rising power demands from electrification—something exemplified by the skyrocketing number of electric vehicles (EVs) on Europe’s roads today. Through Orgalim, we’ll be able to magnify our efforts to bring the products and grid regulation in line with the energy transition long-term requirements, leveraging our policy research and market knowledge to help regulators better frame the future electrical grids. This will ensure we maximize the positive impact of our products and services, driving sustainable growth and helping to shape a better future for both European citizens and the environment.”

Eaton will further benefit from the ability to network with a broad range of business leaders in Orgalim’s Executive Forum for Advanced Manufacturing. As part of this limited membership forum, Eaton will be able to influence the industry agenda, access valuable insights, and offer advice to Orgalim’s Board of Directors. Since Orgalim engages with a wide range of EU institutions and stakeholders, membership also means Eaton can strengthen business relationships across Europe and increase its visibility through high-profile speaking opportunities, webinars, and other thought leadership events.

“Joining Orgalim puts us in the perfect position to help meet today's huge power challenges and opportunities in Europe,” adds John Robb, segment director, Commercial & Industrial Buildings, EMEA, Eaton. “For instance, we can help building owners transform their properties into energy hubs to support electric vehicles charging, decarbonization, and grid stability. We’re already offering the technologies necessary to achieve this—like EV chargers, energy storage, and intelligent power management. However, Orgalim membership means we can now advocate for the right policy framework too: enabling building owners to take advantage of new revenue streams and to sell power back into the grid.”

As an innovator in power management solutions, Eaton is dedicated to creating new technologies and services that improve quality of life and the environment for everyone. By leveraging local ecosystems of expertise, such as Orgalim, Eaton can magnify the impact of its multi-billion dollar investment in R&D—enabling more open innovation worldwide.

"In this transformative decade for Europe's industries, it has never been more important for manufacturing companies to stay ahead of and influence the European policy agenda,” says Malte Lohan, director general, Orgalim. Orgalim's policy and advocacy work covers a very broad spectrum of policy and regulatory issues of strategic importance to Europe's technology industries. Our new programme, Orgalim for Corporates, will strengthen our capabilities further by building on the expertise and collaboration with companies that we leverage through our vast network of association membership. I'm very pleased to welcome Eaton to the Orgalim 'family'."

We make what matters work. Sustainably.

As we realize our vision to improve the quality of life and the environment, we believe we should be measured by more than our financial results—we should also be defined by our commitment to the environment, to our workforce and local communities, and to doing business right.
