Eaton Donates $10,000 to JCC in Support of their Manufacturing Technology Institute

Olean, NY … Power management company Eaton recently donated $10,000 to Jamestown Community College to support student scholarship, construction and equipment needs of the Manufacturing Technology Institute (MTI) on the Cattaraugus County Campus.  The donation from the Eaton Charitable Fund will ensure that area residents have the opportunity to explore engineering and creative problem solving using up-to-date technologies.

Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live, work, and volunteer.

“This is a great opportunity for Eaton to show our commitment to the Olean community,” said Jason R. Burt, Plant Manager.  “I am very excited about the future MTI programs that will bolster the workforce and provide students with the necessary skills for success.”

The new MTI facility, which will open in August 2016 and will feature several of the college’s accredited educational programs such as industrial equipment technology, mechanical technology, machine tool technology and welding technology, as well as non-credit industry specific customized training programs.
