Eaton Expands Circuit Breaker Modernization Services to Help Industrial Customers Maintain Uptime, Power Reliability and Equipment Safety

January 20, 2014

PITTSBURGH … Power management company Eaton today announced a new modernization program for Eaton Magnum low voltage power circuit breakers. The solution strengthens a robust portfolio of reconditioning services specifically designed to enhance the reliability, performance and functional life of electrical distribution systems.

“Eaton’s services allow customers to increase the operational life of vintage circuit breakers without the cost of total replacement,” said Mike Farmer, aftermarket manager at Eaton. “The extensive modernization expertise available at our Aftermarket Center of Excellence helps restore equipment to original condition and improve performance to meet evolving circuit protection challenges.”

Through Eaton’s unique approach to circuit breaker remanufacturing, heavily damaged Magnum power circuit breakers can be re-introduced into the distribution system with original capacity, a longer life and the added ability to reduce the risk of arc flash for down-stream breakers. Technicians specifically trained in power circuit breaker remanufacturing lead the process to provide dedicated support for remanufacturing on a routine or emergency basis.

Eaton’s Magnum DS low voltage circuit breakers offer the highest American National Standards Institute (ANSI) interrupting and withstand ratings in the industry in the smallest physical size. The solution is ideal for the protection of switchgear and switchboards. To learn more, visit www.eaton.com/magnum.
