In response to these trends, Enova, the Norwegian state-owned enterprise tasked with promoting the transition to a low-carbon society, is offering households up to NOK 10,000 for installing an intelligent power management system. To qualify, the system must be able to control defined fixed loads such as water boilers and electrical heating based on spot price tariff data. For instance, such a smart system would tell the boiler to heat up when energy tariffs are low to provide warm water for later use during periods of peak demand.
And thanks to the new energy monitoring and control features that we are planning to release mid-2024, the xComfort Bridge will be able to do just that. In other words, by opting for xComfort, you can receive financial support for equipping your home with an intelligent power management.
With this update, xComfort Bridge will be able to:
How to access Enova funding
To get financial support from Enova, your xComfort system must:
If your system meets these requirements, you can apply for financial support at enova.no. In the process, you also need to provide proof of the cost of installation.
You can also download a form here for your electrician to fill out.
xComfort products that you need to qualify for the Enova subsidy
With the combination of these Eaton products, you will be eligible for Enova’s smart power management incentive:
In total, you will need at least two actuators to control two separate loads, as stipulated by Enova, but you can mix and match them to suit your needs.
In the case of heating applications, one of the following products will also be required for sensing the room temperature:
We are currently working on the energy control features of xComfort in line with Enova’s requirements, and in the future, we will continue to develop the xComfort platform to ensure that we fulfil the latest relevant market requirements, both for energy control and interoperability.
