Job Description: After you complete your studies within supply chain or engineering, you will be interested in to explore what specific areas of supply chain really interest you. This could be logistics, warehousing, inventory, planning or procurement and this internship gives you an excellent way of working within all of these teams to explore your career further.
Supply Chain is always an essential part of any manufacturing business but I am excited to see how technological advancements improve the efficiency of supply chains, including the use of autonomous mobile robots.
What did you want to be when you were a child growing up?
I wanted to be a business owner.
What education / degree did you study?
Business Economics degree at the University of Leicester.
Did you always see yourself in your current career?
I did not see myself in my current career, partly because I did not know what my current role was. I was always interested in how things work so was naturally drawn to a factory environment.
What are your current responsibilities?
I currently manage any defective parts we deem to be supplier fault, involving the liaising with suppliers, returning of parts and obtaining of credit notes. Expediting purchase orders is an additional part of my role. I also create routecards for one of our product lines.
What does the future look like for you?

Transparency because it is essential for everyone to be open and share available information to operate in the most efficient way possible. Transparency also means trust between employees to allow positive workplace relationships and cooperation.

Making work exciting, engaging and meaningful for employees is the most important to me as a positive workplace allows for productive employees to perform their best, creating a successful company.
Which of the STE[a]M subjects do you most relate to and why?
I most relate to Technology as this greatly effects the efficiency of supply chains and thus the production of our own businesses. Also Engineering as this is such a huge part of the quality notification process to problem solve whether the supplier is at fault, and providing all the relevant technical information to the supplier to resolve the defect.
Who/what inspires you the most?
Being challenged and happy in my career inspires me most, and working in different areas has helped me realize the levels of each quality I would obtain.
