“At our facility, we are very focused on predictive maintenance because we know that it can really decrease downtime. We try to implement anything we can to improve our maintenance program as long as it is cost-effective, which we found PredictPulse to be.”
“We were alerted by Eaton via email, direct messaging and a phone call. An Eaton field technician was simultaneously notified and was dispatched to troubleshoot the issue.”
In a second instance, PredictPulse alerted the company to an impending power module failure. Once again, an Eaton field technician was immediately notified and dispatched to troubleshoot the issue, with the UPM successfully replaced and the problem resolved.
Throughout the issues, the petroleum company’s technician was kept in the loop at all times through PredictPulse notifications; in fact, he reveals that one of the features he values most is “being able to access it anywhere, anytime from either my phone or laptop.”
The organization is also gaining value through PredictPulse Insight, the first cloud-based analytics service for data center infrastructure to predict the failure of power components. The new service adds predictive analytics to the remote monitoring service ── shifting power monitoring from a reactive to a proactive model. By collecting and analyzing data from connected power infrastructure devices, Insight provides information that Eaton needs to make recommendations and take action on the company’s behalf.
“Without PredictPulse, troubleshooting and facility downtime would have been significantly greater, decreasing production and increasing man hours.”
“The predictive part of the analytics will give us data that can tell us when a battery needs to be changed out.”
