In late 2020, the European Commission will review its F-Gas Regulation by reconsidering the extent of the original 2006 legislation and deciding whether now is the right time to expand the prohibition on SF6 in industrial uses to include medium voltage (MV) switchgear. While this might sound like an arcane, relatively minor political event, it is in fact a significant opportunity for the battle against climate change.
